UX at Allstate
We’re a large and well-respected digital design organization of 115 passionate UX designers, content designers, researchers, visual designers, and design program managers led by our VP UX, and we’ll be growing by 40% in 2022! Job Summary:
As the digital voice of Allstate, the UX Content Design Manager strategizes, creates and manages clear, consistent and engaging UX content, including information architecture, product copy, calls-to-action, microcopy, naming conventions and taxonomies, that help drive bottom-line business results for the company. You’ll work across a broad range of customer experiences and touchpoints, including branded websites, software and product development, online sales channels, mobile, email and other digital content.
The UX Content Design Manager also supports Allstate’s overall brand objectives by ensuring consistent voice and tone, and by communicating brand values through every stage of the customer journey. The UX Content Design Manager translates complex topics and ideas in ways that are user friendly, jargon free and easy to understand. Using design thinking and keeping the user at the center of everything you do, you’ll collaborate with UX Visual Designers, UX Designers and UX Researchers. You’ll work within an agile framework to create human-centered content design solutions that utilize customer insights, data, legal and stakeholder input.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of content designers, guiding them toward project success and achieving career goals
- Set UX content strategy for complex of multi-faceted areas, and assures adherence to that strategy through communication and design direction.
- Prioritize content design work across program areas
- Set and measure key performance indicators for UX content design work
- Acts as SME and resource for content team members
- Ensures established content processes are followed by entire UX team
- Actively determines and implements new process for benefit of team, devs, and stakeholders
- Act as mentor to junior team members, regardless of reporting structure
- Utilize best UX and digital writing practices to turn product and marketing requirements into a clear and concise experience for our customers, includes calls-to-action, mirco copy, interaction flows, feature development and navigation.
- Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary UX team to design a variety of compelling user experiences.
- Use data and research to evaluate content impact and derive customer insights that will help us solve our biggest customer problems and show real business results.
- Work with and gain approval from other stakeholders and legal.
- Serve as brand ambassador and owner of the Allstate voice.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Training or experience using human-centered design techniques
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Journalism, Advertising, Communications or similar
- 7 years experience as a content designer, UX writer, copywriter or content strategist
- Experience working with a cross-functional UX team
- Familiarity with agile development processes
Compensation Data
The hiring salary for this position is $102,000 - $155,000, offer based on experience.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
