Work Schedule: Hourly, 10-20 Hours per Week. Front Week Heavy

SUMMARY

Processing of payroll & tax administration, time & attendance, and human resource support for small to medium size businesses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares and submits payroll on a weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly basis per client.
  • Monitor deductions such as child support, garnishments, worker’s compensation.
  • Responsible for payments and associated reporting to municipalities at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Assists with and submits documentation for services related to advanced scheduling, points, and incident management.
  • Works collaboratively with the Ally Payroll team to complete daily tasks.
  • Provides verbal or written responses to clients in a friendly, prompt manner.
  • Anticipates and meets all customer needs accurately, professionally, and with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Assists Payroll Analyst with the completion of daily verification of personnel changes for completeness, takes initiative to identify problems and works with Human Resources to correct errors and/or secure missing information.
  • Demonstrates sound understanding of all payroll processes by supporting the Ally Payroll team with production of payrolls during critical or peak periods.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Associate degree
  • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible payroll experience
  • Demonstrated experience in processing payroll transactions to general ledger
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations

  • Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and quality
  • Ability to effectively accept direction from multiple levels of the management team
  • Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently
  • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

· Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business

· Payroll experience in an academic environment or multi-state organization

· Experience in payroll-related state retirement reporting
