The Opportunity
Working in a hybrid of remote work and in-office environments, the Senior Claims Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the adjudication of first party auto physical damage claims within prescribed authority levels. Additionally, the position is responsible for managing customer service timeliness, reserving accuracy, personnel administration, licensing, regulatory compliance, and the continual development of process improvements. Work involves a great deal of initiative and extremely high level of independent judgment in making decisions.
The Senior Claims Supervisor will typically have direct reports of 6-8 claim representatives team members who handle first party auto claims for Dealership customers.
The Work Itself
Manage internal insurance claim handling operations to achieve a high level of efficiency and customer service while effectively controlling costs and manage process improvement initiatives.
Oversee claims department and ensure that the staff maintains the established Service, Quality and Productivity Metrics.
Responsible for first party auto claims processing and loss control efforts. Provides direction on claim investigations, decision making, and documentation.
Responsible for the conclusion of claim correspondence, complaint handling, and fraud cases.
Explore and develop tools to improve the dealers overall claims experience.
Review the more complex claims to ensure proper handling and settle claims in excess of staff authority levels.
Develop staff through education and ensure successful completion of fraud, compliance, and required corporate training of all employees.
Ensure all required staff licenses are current and continuing education requirements are met.
Oversee internal claim handling and technological processes to enhance efficiencies.
The Skills You Bring
HS diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred.
5 years in auto physical damage claim handling is required.
At least 2 years leadership experience, 5 years preferred.
Ability to provide advice/direction in primary areas of expertise.
Leveraging technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results.
Contribute to and manage projects.
High level of analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills
Hold/Maintain the appropriate State Licenses
