Job Purpose:
Seeking an energetic, team player that can jump right in and make an impact. The accounting manager has broad responsibility for leading the financial and administrative activities supporting the company. This is a new position as the previous owner supplied most of the accounting support. Going forward under new ownership, all accounting and financial support will be provided on site.
Responsibilities:
Management:
- Lead the Accounting Team and be primary financial resource for company reporting directly to the General Manager
- Set standards and lead implementation of strong financial controls
- Establish effective financial stewardship and lead communication of results to company management and Ownership Executive Board
- Identify efficiency/cost savings opportunities and lead change to capture
- Maintain effective contact with outside CPA and financial systems vendors
- Annual Operating Budget preparation and monthly financial reporting of actual to budget results including explanation of major variances is a key responsibility of this position
Financial Close:
- Preparation of Financial Statement Packets for Department Managers, General Manager and Ownership Executive Board
- General Account and Petty Cash Account bank reconciliations
- Various journal entries
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Excise/Use Tax Return
- Cash Flow Statement
- Aged AR Report
- Member billing
- A/P processing
Payroll:
- Receive and organize payroll information from department managers
- Review, adjust and confirm hours.
- Enter Payroll Information to Excel Spreadsheet which feeds to related reports and journal entries.
- Accrue Paid Sick Leave/PTO
- Receive and process shipment of Reports/Checks from ADP.
- Complete Journal Entry
- Payroll Departmental Reports
Human Resources:
- Communicate and meet with new hires to complete necessary documentation and paperwork.
- Process Terminations
- Maintain Personnel Files
- Manage Employment Security/L&I/Protected Leave claims and requests
- Conduct annual renewal of medical, dental and vision benefits
- Coordinate Annual Open Enrollment Period for medical insurance
- Track and process enrollments/termination of insurance benefits throughout year (apply to payroll as necessary)
- Track and determine benefit eligibility for new and existing employees per policy
Budgeting/Permits:
- Cash tracking and management
- Bank Deposits
- Business License Renewal (includes Liquor/Tobacco/Minor Work Permit/Catering/Off Premise Wine/etc.)
- Annual Report Renewal
- Government Surveys/Reports (Census Bureau/Bureau of Labor Statistics/OSHA etc.)
- Annual Budget Preparation is a critical responsibility of this position
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 4 years plus of professional experience in accounting role with progressive growth.
- Knowledge of GAAP, accrual basis accounting and financial reporting
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently to resolve problems
- Experience with JONAS software a plus
- Experience in hospitality operations a plus
- Demonstrated ability to run a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have supervisory, coaching and staff development experience
- Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the hospitality business
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
