What are the responsibilities and job description for the Raw Materials Production Associate position at Alo Yoga?
OVERVIEW
We are looking for a creative and inspired individual to join the Alo family as a Raw Materials Production Associate. The role’s main responsibility will be to validate that all commercialized bulk materials are passing testing requirements and matching bulk standards.
The ideal candidate will have a proven Raw Material Development and/or Production track record in the athletic apparel industry. As a member of the Raw Material team, you will partner with suppliers to ensure an on-time delivery of all bulk materials and work through any issues that may arise during production. You will also work closely with the Sourcing, Planning and Raw Materials teams to position greige fabric, yarns or other materials in an effort to maintain cost and reduce lead-times challenges.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Design, Raw Material R&D, Product Development, Technical Design, Sourcing, Planning, Product Integrity and Merchandising teams to deliver beautiful, innovative, and compliant product.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the bulk raw material production process from projection through garment hand over
- Partner with Sourcing and garment vendors on any production issues related to fabric or trim
- Establish and execute the brand strategy for all product to achieve financial, quality and product integrity goals
- Communicate and manage calendar deadlines with cross functional team and overseas partners
- Collaborate with cross functional teams from Raw Material R D, Product Development, and Sourcing to ensure on time delivery
- Establish and implement best practice for greige booking and trim pre-positioning
- Responsible for Key Performance indicators that include but not limited to maintaining vendor scorecard, on-time deliveries, and material compliance
- Develop a strategy with RM Manager on Mill capacity planning
- Support process and IT improvements/solutions to enable seasonal execution that drive efficiencies
- Review all bulk material testing reports and uphold Alo quality standards
- Work collaboratively within the Sourcing organization with the Raw Material R&D, Color, Product Development, Sourcing, and Product Integrity teams to elevate our collective performance and meet or exceed our goals
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Must have 8 years of experience in the apparel industry, ideally in athletic apparel
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with appropriate sense of urgency
- Commitment and superior attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment, build trust and relationships with vendor & cross functional partners
- Strong analytical skills
- Anticipate and troubleshoot any potential delivery delays due to raw material production
- Thorough understanding of testing protocol, product integrity requirements, product cycle timeline, costing & price negotiation and garment construction
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work environment
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, & Outlook
- Proficiency with PLM and Adobe Suite- Illustrator and Photoshop a plus
