SENSORY SPECIALIST
PLAINFIELD, IL

Required Skills:
- BS in Food Science/ Psychology (or related technical field) with 1-2 years of sensory experience in a consumer product company or CPG industry.
- Food Science or chemistry or chemical engineering experience.
- Experience with Food industry or beverage industry or flavours industry is good to have.
- Demonstrated ability and adaptability to support multiple programs across a broad brand/product portfolio with a substantial workload.
- Ability to concisely communicate and sell ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work closely with cross functional customers and conversion sites to build relationships and transfer knowledge around best practices and sensory expertise.
- Create an open, continuous improvement culture, seeking training and understanding of new technologies needed to support the business needs of the company.
- Create a supportive and challenging team climate, understanding how to get the best from others.
- Has sound understanding of own impact and modifies accordingly, working hard to understand what is important to others and the larger business.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to analyze data to effectively communicate and manage stakeholder expectations.
Project Description:
- Engage across our Demand and Supply organizations to ensure the liquid quality of the Client's brands sensorially, drive improvements across our programs, and interpret data to enable decision making and verify performance of our global manufacturing sites against our high standards.
- Coordinates sensory testing for incoming consumer complaints and communicates results to the Consumer/Retail Experience Manager to ensure product quality and to enhance customer service.
- Drive the best sensory designs to ensure business needs are met working directly with Liquid Developers throughout commercialization (shelf-life, SLOB, standards submission).
- Assumes responsibility for the operation of relevant scientific equipment and maintains personal work area for safety and cleanliness.
- Drive standards compliance program across conversion sites to ensure product quality and consistency throughout production.
- Develops, manages, and trains on shelf-life procedures and provides internal consultancy as needed across NA Supply to establish product's shelf-life and ensure product integrity.
This 7 month position starts ASAP.
