Job Title: Platforms Technical Lead
Work Location: Washington, DC (1-2 days onsite required)
Clearance Required: Secret (must be eligible for Top Secret)
Alpha Omega is seeking a seasoned Platform Technical Lead with a PMP and an ITIL (v3 or higher) certification and a minimum of 10 years of experience in managing heterogeneous platform environments for critical systems.
As a Platform Technical Lead, you will lead a team of systems administrators, network engineers, and cloud engineers who are responsible for coordinating multiple workstreams in support of thousands of users on agency’s secure networks.
You will provide the management, process, oversight, and ongoing support of multiple platforms and network environments that include both the hardware and software and some applications support functions. The team is in the process of a circuit cutover, AWS Cloud migration, and other upgrades to modernize the IT infrastructure and ultimately move toward Platform as a Service (PaaS) operations.
Partnering with the enterprise stakeholders, you will provide IT support to the organization and development teams to chart a service delivery roadmap, manage deliverables, SLAs and SLOs.
You will bring a demonstrated track record of success leading IT services in large enterprise setting as well as critical skills in developing partnerships, modeling behaviors, and improving team capabilities and leading in a fluid and rapidly changing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating all contractor workstreams and responsibilities in this functional area, leads platform contractor personnel
- Possesses strong project management and people management skills in addition to strong technical expertise in platforms management
- Capable of furthering the capabilities and maintaining a robust network experience and services for end users
- Provide subject matter expertise for Cloud platforms (Amazon AWS, Azure) and services including IaaS and PaaS
- Provide leadership in planning, architecture, design, and implementation to support project’s implementation of Cloud computing with a focus on application and platform technologies.
- Manage platform services to ensure integrity and stability of critical operations.
- As part of the operations teams for agency’s critical systems, you will provide support to applications and middleware technology, including integration services. Respond to priority issues impacting service levels
- Leverage technological innovations and industry best practices such as ITIL to provide solutions that contribute to increased IT operational efficiency
- Manage a team of resources engaged in the provisioning of application and middleware technology services by establishing and managing work priorities and standards, providing advice and consultation on the more complex and technical issues, managing project deliverables, and taking corrective action in resolving issues with project team performance as required
- Collaborate with development and IT infrastructure teams to solicit requirements, design, build and automate the provisioning of platform services to support the software development lifecycle.
- Collaboratively with DevOps team, provide planning, architecture, design, and implementation support for implementation of DevSecOps.
- Manage implementation and operation of the organization’s platform & middleware technology on-premises and in AWS Cloud.
- Manage migration of on-premises applications to Cloud Infrastructure and Platform services as needed.
- Communicate with executive leadership on progress serving as the infrastructure/platforms technical lead to present recommendations and solutions to resolve or mitigate technical challenges
Qualifications:
- A minimum 10 years of experience
- At least four years of experience as a Technical Lead
- Experience in federal contracting industry, preferably State Department
- Experience migrating and/or integrating services in AWS cloud/hybrid cloud
- Experience migrating and/or integrating services in Azure cloud/hybrid cloud
- Ability to work independently, think strategically and proven diagnostic ability are critical.
- Change agent, demonstrating leadership driving continual improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Preferred Tools/Technology/Certifications:
- AWS Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- PMI Disciplined Agile Scrum Master
- PMP
Following Certifications are required:
- ITIL v3 or higher (or within 6 months of hire)
