Tool Crib Attendant: 4-Day Work Week!

Alpha Q, Inc. is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to join our Aerospace Manufacturing division. This is a fulltime 1st shift position at our Colchester, CT facility.

Position Description:

The Tool Crib Attendant’s role is to maintain tool inventory for the manufacturing shop floor by issuing tools, tool holders, and supplies to assist shop floor machinists and manage the overall organization, storage, and inventory of all the tool crib materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position to include, but not limited to:

• Maintains tool inventory for manufacturing shop floor
• Presets and issues tools to machinists
• Prepares tool requisitions
• Visually inspects condition of returned tools and appropriately routes for necessary sharpening/repair
• Sharpens tools on grinder equipped with grinding jigs
• Organizes, stores, and maintains tool crib inventory and materials
• Monitor and manage inventory for tool vending machine
• Updates Material Safety Data Sheets via online management system
• Monitors inventory for first aid cabinets

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of tools and/or machining found in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Minimum experience required (2 years) in a manufacturing shop floor setting. Technical training or education will be considered if minimum experience level is not met.
• Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment
• Must have excellent attention to detail
• Must be punctual, reliable, and willing to work mandatory overtime as deemed necessary by supervisor to meet customer demands.

Education:

• High school or vocational graduate (technical education or training preferred)
