Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Quality professional to ensure that our products and services meet all necessary requirements, in a safe and efficient working environment, before they reach the end user.
The Manager of Quality & Safety will be a part of our Senior Management team and will work to ensure product performance, execution of best practices and aid in developing future work methods and process that lead to ongoing improvements in our product, processes and work environment.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
- Maintain and improve upon our existing ISO9001, 17034 and 17025 systems.
- Devise and review specifications for products or processes
- Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
- Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback
- Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
- Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements
- Approve the right products or reject defectives
- Perform/Oversee internal audits of the quality system
- Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
- Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met
- Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives
- Seek opportunities for operational improvements and develop new efficient procedures
- Supervise QC department staff/resources
Requirements
- Proven experience with Quality Systems (previous Management experience preferred but not required)
- Conscientious and responsible
- A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Desire and willingness to work on special projects as needed
- Proficient in MS Office
- In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
- Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
- BS in Administration or Science Field or with equivalent experience
- Direct knowledge of ISO17025 and ISO17034 with previous laboratory experience is highly preferred
