EHS MANAGER JOB PURPOSE:
To develop and implement systems, processes, and programs that ensure the safety and health of all company employees, as well as the community, and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory agencies
EHS MANAGER DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for development of manufacturing EHS management systems for all plants, mandatory (corporate) EHS reporting and serve as a resource for trouble shooting/problem solving EHS issues
- Coordinates plant inspections and EHS audits, (internal and external) and provides directional leadership (to closure) of audit findings
- Responsible for management of all environmental permit requirements (e.g. wastewater, storm water, etc.), designs, develops, implements, and monitors wastewater and storm water management programs, solid waste programs and air emission programs
- Responsible for external incident reporting and safety accident reports, maintaining plants OSHA 300 Log and injury and illness records and the review and revision of company safety policies and procedures
- Responsible for ensuring all Environmental and Safety equipment is available, reliable, and maintained, and the company meets or exceeds safety and quality standards and regulations
- Coordinates the development of safety educational materials and prepares, schedules and presents safety and environmental compliance training for all plants
- Designs, develops, implements, and monitors Crisis Management and Emergency Evacuation programs and Fire Prevention programs
- Responsible for MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) documentation, managing EHS budget, coordinate plants ergonomic efforts, overseeing plant safety committee processes and managing Industrial Hygiene program
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
- Advanced responsibilities may include:
- Cooperate/participate in the monitoring/advising of state and local legislative and regulatory committees
- Interfacing with agencies that provide consultancy services for safety, environmental, and fire prevention
- Leading EHS equipment selection efforts, working with technical and engineering (internal and external) depts. to ensure EHS is integrated into all projects in CJF’s manufacturing facilities
- Research, develop, and implement EHS ideas/solutions to reduce cost and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required).
- Recommended BS degree in Engineering, Technology, Safety, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in Manufacturing, Project Management, and EHS (prefer 5 years)
