Alphia is searching for a Network Administrator!
This role will take ownership and administer all switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, and other network devices for Alphia. In addition, assist company in maintaining and updating the network to new solutions. This person will function as project management for transformation projects. Look for cost saving options and products alternatives to current legacy designs. In addition, implement and manage new network technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Telecommunications
- Work with telecommunication companies to order and install new circuits.
- Monitor network throughput thresholds for issues and forecasting.
- Work with telecommunication companies to troubleshoot incidents.
Application Architecture and Business Systems
- Working through established technology partners, support the application architecture strategy and business systems landscape.
- Maintain an understanding of the system and software landscape within the company.
- Ensure the effective implementation of the defined architecture and ensure compliance with the architecture and business systems strategy.
- Coordinate effective monitoring and management of the application solutions.
- Create Helpdesk Support and training documentation.
- Lead knowledge transfer and training sessions to Helpdesk and other IT technicians.
- Provide 3rd level post implementation support to business users with a strong client service.
Platforms and Applications
- Work with cross functional project teams and stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
- Analyze business data and draw conclusive connections.
- Facilitate progress and resolutions of system defects.
Network Management
- Plan and install device upgrades and replacements.
- Manage ethernet and fiber installations and repairs.
- Manage and monitor UPS battery systems.
- Manage VPN solutions.
- Manage wireless solutions.
- Manage firewall solutions.
- Assist with the design and deployment of solutions to improve network infrastructure.
- Determines the technology capabilities (including software applications, IT infrastructure end-user devices) on which the business depends for ongoing operations and growth.
- Constantly assess existing and emerging technologies and identifies those that can contribute most effectively to the business objectives and goals at the enterprise level.
Other Job Duties
- Evaluates tools or software technologies with more cost effective or modern options.
- Creates documentation and procedures.
- Applies application architecture standards to ensure appropriate conformity for existing and new solutions.
- Identifies opportunities to retire duplicative tools or software technologies.
- Ensures effective development of key business software tools, including workflows.
- Validates that all system solutions follow industry best practice settings and conform to company security policies.
- Assists other business technology teams to evaluate new software solutions for compliance with corporate technology and architecture standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: College level completion preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years in similar field and experience.
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiar in managing WAN and LAN networks.
- Knowledge of Networks – TCP/IP (transmission control protocol / internet protocol); Cisco IOS; and Telecommunication Principles.
- Familiar with networking OSI layers 1-4.
- Familiar with Cisco hardware.
- Familiar with wireless concepts and Aruba hardware.
- Familiar with layer 1 mediums; Fiber and copper Ethernet.
- Familiar with UPS systems.
- Familiar with firewalls and NG firewall solutions.
- Familiar with SDwan technology.
- Familiar with VPN tunnels and clients, such as AnyConnect.
- Familiar with Network monitoring tools; such as solarwinds, librenms, and splunk
- Familiar with network authentication protocols: tacacs, radius, and LDAP.
- Familiar with data logging such as syslog and SNMP.
- Manages projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader.
- Consultative experience with both customers and partners as a subject matter expert.
- Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems.
- Ability to adapt and learn new tools.
