General Overview: The Plant Utility position is responsible for day-to-day duties needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the team. Responsibilities: Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed Be cognizant of and adhere to safety requirements Participate in all safety meetings Shoveling, sweeping, and monitoring Must be familiar with operating and servicing small equipment Must understand or have familiarity with all power and small tools Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment Clean, lubricate and fuel all equipment and general site housekeeping Ensure safety fences, markings, berms are all in place Notify supervisor and/or maintenance of any required work to be done Performs other related duties as required Other Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required Mental and Physical Requirements: Able to read, speak and write English Able to work under stressful conditions at times Work performed in a plant environment Exposure to inclement weather as most work will be performed outside Regularly required to lift, carry, push, and pull 75 lbs. or more Frequently required to walk on unleveled ground Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty striving for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication Dependability, reliability, fulfilling responsibilities Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating things Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility May be sensitive to confidential information Must work independently and as a member of a team This job description should not be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities or as an employment agreement between the employer and employee.
