JOB TITLE: Operator I
DEPARTMENT: Production
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Operator will follow written and verbal instructions to perform hand assembly tasks, operate machinery, and perform material handling as required to manufacture munitions and related products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build deliverable products in accordance with written work instructions, quality standards, and visual assembly aids.
- Responsible for ensuring deliverables meet all performance requirements through manufacturing processes.
- Follow all plant policies and procedures.
- Participate in Operational Excellence activities.
- Work independently, as well as part of a team
- Demonstrate safe work practices through compliance with all company Environmental Health and Safety Policies
- Perform other job assignments as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Preferred experience in manufacturing.
- Preferred experience operating production machinery.
- Ability to wear a full Tyvek suit.
- Ability to pass Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) background screen, obtain and maintain an ATF-Employee Possessor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Frequently works with hazardous products utilizing appropriate PPE.
- Regularly exposed to hot and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance.
- Required to use vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be comfortable with heights and utilizing ladders or other elevation tools/equipment.
- Must be comfortable working in a facility where explosives and ammunition are manufactured, handled, and frequently expended for testing and demonstration purposes.
EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
