Engineer capable in piping, pumping, process equipment, infrastructure, thermodynamics, chemical transfer, and web processing. Responsible for planning and executing large, medium, and small projects to meet safety, technical, cost, and time objectives. Manages and executes complex capital projects to the same standards. Provides technical assistance to Production and Maintenance teams in a Paper Mill Environment.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct/lead/commission Engineering Studies
  • Develop scope of work and cost estimates for capital projects
  • Manage all aspects of capital projects: safety, cost, time, design, and implementation, ensuring stakeholder review at critical project junctures (including operator review)
  • Procure and analyze competitive bids for purchases and projects
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and all applicable code requirements and quality standards
  • Coordinate check-out/start-up activities
  • Provide weekend coverage on rotating basis
  • Provide technical expertise/guidance to other Mill Departments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Four-year Engineering degree
  • Minimum five years’ experience
  • Ability to organize and execute multiple complex engineering projects.
  • Ability to clearly communicate goals, milestones, and tasks to management, colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Results-driven individual, combining detail-orientation and big-picture capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Paper Mill experience
  • Familiarity with Electrical and Controls systems
