Job Summary
This is a high-volume Dental office located in Freeport looking to add an additional dental assistant position to our amazing team and growing office! The ideal candidate would be someone who is self motivated, can work well in a fast paced environment, loves learning and is a team player.
Responsibilities
Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials
Assembles instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies and pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
Documents dental care services by charting in patient records
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
Assist with payment procedures
Skills
Proven experience as dental assistant (preferred)
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
High school diploma
Radiology License (preferred)
