Job Summary :
Our client in Allen Park, MI is looking for a Systems Engineer Calibration. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do :
Our Client s Performance Exhaust & Emissions Systems Product Development Technical Program Systems Engineer (GSR / PMT4 equivalent).
Metalwork exhaust, catalyst substrate, aftertreatment and emissions product development (PD) technical program engineer including Program Management (PMT4) work for future Performance vehicles.
Requires a minimum of 8 years’ experience with an intimate understanding of exhaust aftertreatment system chemistry, function, and durability, with an emphasis on extremely high-performance internal combustion engine (ICE) products.
Support the testing, prototype, and launch builds of upcoming Performance vehicles at assembly plants and test facilities.
Interface daily with other D&R engineers, attribute teams, suppliers, and management to ensure parts comply with required specifications and critical decisions are made efficiently.
Deliver components and systems that meet program targets for quality, function, cost, weight, and timing.
For this Position, there will be a Home-Base to work from the Performance location (Dearborn, MI). In addition, the engineer will also be expected to co-locate at other Dearborn, MI locations to integrate directly & efficiently with other program team members / D&R engineers working on multiple future programs.
The roles and responsibilities for this position are dynamic and is focused on bringing alignment across multiple car / truck programs (26-28MY ).
This program systems engineer must be a self- starter with exceptional organizational & communication skills.
Basics :
8 years of experience in Powertrain component Design and Release required.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
Experience with vehicle manufacturing launch and prototype process desired.
Excellent written and oral presentation skills required.
Strong knowledge of exhaust component design, including emissions control features, and how they interface with the other vehicle systems desired.
Ideal candidate is a self-starter with ability to deliver results and overcome obstacles in a dynamic working environment.
Position fully onsite.
Occasional travel may be required to support vehicle development and supplier reviews. Some in-person work required to support vehicle builds and testing.
Preferred :
Engineering Master’s degree.
Familiarity with PD systems and processes : GPDS, WERS, FEDEBOM, FEDE, Teamcenter, etc. required.
Familiarity with CAD (Catia) and CAE tools.
Familiarity with program management tool Microsoft Project to develop Gantt Charts for program timeline, DV-PV, milestones, and deliverables.
Familiarity with Diagnostic Engineering Tools, CANAlyzer, ATI Vision, etc. to evaluate and analyze vehicle software issues desired.
