Risk Management Specialist

Overview

This position manages quality data systems through program evaluations, software systems, and by implementing the components of the performance improvement process in AltaPointe programs/facilities. They work closely with other Performance Improvement Specialists and our Management Information Systems department to maintain consistency of processes and activities.

Responsibilities

Primary Job Functions:

• Monitors, analyzes and manages performance improvement data systems to ensure exploration of functionality.
• Communicates results of data management activities compiling, clearly summarizing and thoughtfully preparing data for presentation to various audiences through verbal and written reports.
• Effectively collaborates with other AHS program coordinators and outside sources.
• Handles significant data projects end-to-end, both solo and team based in a professional and competent manner.
• Collaborates with staff to facilitate achievement of compliance.
• Report Errors to Relias/RL support teams and work with technicians to resolve the issues.
• Responsible for deploying Relias updates to staff.
• Consults with IT department in altering software and integration issues.

 Data Analysis Functions:

• Demonstrates ability to perform the following functions related to performance improvement data systems:
• Analysis of and identification of trends related to outcomes and variances of RL and Relias systems.
• Maintain databases and review sheets as required.
• Meet deadlines and timeframes for reviews and reporting.
• Provides basic data systems support including for PI staff and program supervisory staff both verbal and written.
• Responds to requests for ad hoc reporting and support
• Supports the filing, filtering and cleansing of data and applying quality control techniques to reports.
• Maintains standing reports, including refinement of formats, scope, comparators, type(s) of output (tables, charts, graphs) to meet the needs of the target audience.
• Desire and ability to research and solve problems that do not require advanced statistics.
• Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities quickly.

Knowledge of accreditation, managed care and regulatory compliance standards to include The Joint Commission, Alabama Department of Mental Health, Medicaid, Medicare and other third party payers to be attained within (6) six months of employment:

• Knowledge of organization’s Performance Improvement data systems.
• Knowledge and utilization of tools to monitor internal compliance of organization’s PI data systems and policies.
• Significant experience with IT management tools to include, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, RL Solutions, Relias Learning Management System, and other PI data systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in a healthcare, business or social services related discipline. 

Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of highly relevant work experience.
