We're looking for a Medical Billing Specialist, also known as a Revenue Cycle Specialist who must be able to prioritize, organize and communicate with all levels of the practice. He/She should be able to maintain confidentiality, be a critical thinker, as well as being concise and detail oriented. He/She must be willing to travel to the Highland Park, IL office.
You would be under the direction of the VP of Financial Operations, and responsible for managing day-to-day billing processes and procedures for assigned clients including submitting electronic and paper claims, troubleshooting resolution of solution billing errors, clearinghouse errors, and payer electronic claim rejections as well as assisting with aspects of payor credentialing, credentialing, and privileging processes for all medical providers. Our team is built with adults, and we like to manage everyone as adults.
What are the must haves (aka minimum requirements)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience as a Billing Specialist
- Microsoft Office Proficiency
* CPC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P or CPC-H certification is a great plus
Tell me about the job duties (aka key responsibilities but not all encompassing)
- Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper
- Troubleshoot and resolve/escalate billing errors
- Research, resolve and report identified unbilled claims
- Updating information and providing the necessary documentation to ensure payment on insurance claims
- Review patient accounts for accuracy and insurance verification
- Manage the status of accounts and balances to identify inconsistencies
- Correct any claim rejections and denials, resubmit corrected claims
- Work on the aging report as specified by Practice guidelines
- Additional billing duties, as assigned
- Must be willing to travel to the Highland Park, IL office.
