Incoming Quality Inspector

The Incoming Quality Inspector will conduct Quality Control Inspection activities to determine product acceptance of components and finished products while assuring procedures are complied with and proper records are maintained.

The duties are not limited to this list. Any additional requirements, changes, or deletions will be at the discretion of the Quality Manager. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility and duty satisfactorily.

ENTRY LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work effectively with others.
• Computer literate; must have the ability to use MS Word, Excel.
• Accurately read drawings and use basic measuring instruments.
• General understanding of manufacturing processes molding/machining.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the manufacturing and Quality Assurance fields.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Perform accurate mechanical, physical, dimensional and visual inspection of incoming raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per Inspection Plans and Specification Requirements.
• Read and interpret specifications and part prints, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T).
• Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.
• Write NCMR’s for Non Conforming Materials / Processes. Update NCMR’s and SCAR’s. Work with QA Dept. and purchasing to resolve issues in Materials received from suppliers.
• Verify the presence of proper documentation and conformance to requirements for purchased material, sub-contracted parts, manufactured parts, assemblies and purchased complete items that go into finished products.
• Store all pertinent information by keeping detailed records of each inspection, rejection information, and similar data as needed, and prepare rejection reports on Raw Material/Components, giving details for rejection. Compile and review rejection reports monthly.
• Occasionally perform in process inspections on the injection mold shop floor on as needed basis.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
