Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to drive informed strategic decision making through market intelligence, business case development, and market opportunity analysis through an in depth understanding of the healthcare industry that supports continued growth based upon market needs in alignment with overall strategic business goals and objectives. Key functions of this role include market research, business case development, and communication to executive leadership, driving informed decision making. This role is highly visible with expectations of proficiency in communicating with executive stakeholders.

 

This is a Remote role.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with identifying market problems, looking for unsolved problems that are both urgent and pervasive and that healthcare leaders are willing to pay to solve.
  • Defines market requirements that communicates problem(s) to be solved and who it needs to be solved for.
  • Supports solution vision and strategic plan.
  • Conducts market research on users around a specific solution innovation and describe the solution to be offered to the market, including solution positioning and market messaging for key buyers.
  • Prepares business cases for proposed solutions, providing an objective analysis of a potential new market opportunity to be used as a basis for investment decisions.
  • Evaluates buy/build/partner opportunities for extending solutions and pursing new markets.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to identify technical feasibility, development effort requirements, and investment estimates.
  • Analyzes and ensures performance requirements are met.
  • Collaborates with business lines as needed for execution of product roadmaps, development schedules, and product/component designs.
  • Consider and evaluate the cross functional compatibility of software, hardware, and firmware for proposed solutions.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and communicates advantageous partnership opportunities.
  • Supports business and contractual arrangements with partners as needed.
  • Supports advisory boards, user groups and SIGs as needed.
  • Supports pricing and go-to-market activities as needed.
  • Performs competitive analysis by tracking competitor product features and market-share; develop competitive differentiation strategy.

 

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training and experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, Marketing, Finance, or business-related field preferred – or equivalent work experience (Preferred)

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years in product management or portfolio management or market intelligence in the healthcare information or software industry or equivalent experience. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence decisions in a matrix environment, including executive level leaders.
  • Ability to think creatively and to contribute to both strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Ability to understand and interact with technically oriented team members.
  • Ability to understand and articulate business implications of technical issues.
  • Ability to understand and articulate financial models, considerations, opportunities, and risks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical ability: ability to define complex problems and creatively frame solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional initiatives or projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong market and customer centric orientation.
  • Strong collaboration with market facing functions in the organization.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office – specifically Excel and PowerPoint creation and design

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 10% travel may be required
  • May require other travel for business needs

  • This is a remote work position.
