What are the responsibilities and job description for the Butcher position at Alternative HR LLC?
Essential Functions:
- Cut, debone, or grind pieces of meat, including preparing orders to customers’ specifications
- Prepare cuts for weighing, packaging and sale, or further processing
- Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards
- Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature
- Monitor inventory and order meat
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Education and Qualifications:
- Meat cutting experience is a plus but not required
- Experience using meat cutting equipment is a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of food health and safety regulations is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication and task management skills
- Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts is a plus, but not required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Working Conditions:
- Repetitive motions such as carrying, pulling, crouching, bending, twisting, reaching/grabbing, standing/walking
- On feet 90% of the time
- May be exposed to extreme cold, heat, and frequent temperature changes
- May be exposed to hazardous or moderate noise levels
- Inside environment
