The Director, Billing Operations & Assurance role is a mission critical role that Own the accuracy of global invoices to both internal and external customers through partnerships across all teams with a hand in the quote to cash process of Lightpath. Directly impacts customer satisfaction by providing an effortless experience to both internal stakeholders and external customers. The role will manage a team responsible for global invoicing and oversees customer and internal service orders to ensure data integrity for each service on each invoice. The right candidate will possess advanced analytical and decision-making skills and will be a leader across functions for Lightpath and its customers.
Responsibilities
Development and assistance in the implementation of automated quality assurance/quality control, exception management, and reporting- Understand, utilize, and maximize our data, Oracle Financials, Netcracker, RBM and Salesforce.com capabilities to optimize the billing workflow and overall invoicing process
- Serve as a bridge between the business and IT as it relates to business needs, technical capabilities and enhancements
- Actively assess processes and performance across the organization to pinpoint additional optimization opportunities and collaborate with stakeholders and IT to implement solutions
- Ownership of analyzing and reviewing complex service orders prior to invoicing to ensure data integrity and adherence to operational finance principles
- Manage monthly audits, data integrity initiatives, and start to finish monthly invoice review, process and deadlines
- Thorough understanding of policies, procedures, and practices surrounding orders and invoicing and be an Expert resource for each while mentoring and managing the billing organization
- Own the accuracy of global invoices to both internal and external customers through partnerships across all teams with a hand in the quote to cash process of Lightpath
- Work closely with tax to ensure that exemption certificates are reviewed and adhere to monthly
- Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Accounting, Finance or Business
- 10-15 years’ billing experience with exposure to multiple currencies required
- Experience managing a team required
- Advanced financial & analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel a must, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams Applications
- Proven ability to lead a team and take ownership over the data sent to customers
- Knowledge of Salesforce.com and/or telecommunications billing systems and processes required
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, as well as manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively
- Experience leading billing migrations and due diligence in support of m&a activities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work extended hours (some evenings and weekends, when necessary) and achieve results in a deadline driven environment
- Extreme attention to detail and a passion for data
