Description
The Logistics Lead will steer all road, international, and barge freight operations and fleet management at ALTIVIA. This position will report to the Supply Chain Director and will be located in Houston, TX.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement best practices based on industry insight, leverage freight markets and timing in commercial activities including rate execution and carrier sourcing
- Coordinate closely with manufacturing facilities and customer service representatives, for seamless execution
- Standardize logistics processes across ALTIVIA businesses, and between modes where possible
- Conduct all business oversight activities for ALTIVIA Transport
- improving visibility within ERP system and usage of third-party dispatching tool
- maximizing service level and utilization
- updating linehaul rates based on external benchmarks
- monitor expenses and coordinate quarterly financial reviews
- Manage corrective actions for carriers when service and reliability issues occur, investigating in a timely manner and addressing any consistent root causes
- Analyze costs, recommend improvements to carrier mix or business model
- Manage freight accruals for all businesses, and align customer charges for freight expense, coordinating with Customer Care and product managers
- Lead interface with accounts payable, maintaining invoice approvers and approval process, and suggesting improvements to supplier invoicing and ALTIVIA invoice and expense workflow
- Support costing and feasibility assessment for domestic and international freight lanes, and all possible customer freight terms and supply models
- Manage ALTIVIA fleet and all logistics assets; assess lease/own fractions and manage maintenance activities
- Lead compliance efforts and establish sustainable processes to ensure compliant fleet management, and compliant shipping and freight operations
- Develop and manage KPI’s, support analytics and data management to assess and improve logistics performance
- Negotiate and administer contracts with truck, international, and barge carriers; steward service level and ensure cost control
Lead transportation product stewardship program to ensure qualified carriers are onboarded and execute according to zero-incident principles, providing high-quality service during loading, transport, and offload

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; supply chain, logistics, or business disciplines preferred
- Previous logistics experience required; chemical or bulk liquids experience preferred
