About the Role
Alto is building the world's most patient-centric, tech enabled pharmacy, and we are seeking an Accounting Manager to be a key member of our quickly growing Accounting team. You will be responsible for monthly & quarter end closes, GL management, and development of financial controls & processes as we scale the company. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of Alto’s financials and you will be the go-to person for GL accounting in the company. As a result, you will gain exposure to senior-level decision making and develop lasting relationships across the company.
The ideal candidate will have a forward-thinking approach to efficient accounting processes in a fast paced, high growth environment and the ability to clearly communicate deliverables and recommendations. This role reports to the Accounting Sr. Manager, the Accounting Manager
Accelerate your Career as You:
- Manage monthly and quarter end accounting closes by leading close meetings, management of close checklist, and working cross functionally to improve close processes
- Perform monthly close activities including review of monthly reporting package, GL management (such as detailed review/approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, GL data), troubleshooting and solution architecting, and review of flux analysis
- Manage the GL team which includes supervision and support of the outsourced accounting team, development/management of any new hire staff, compliance of GL processes, and assisting with GL process improvements
- Manage Cash, Fixed Asset, Prepaids, Intangible assets, Other assets and liabilities processes, and work cross functionally to improve and develop procedures in these areas to improve efficiency and accuracy as Alto scales
- Analyze GL data, financial reports, and account reconciliations for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the Sr. Accounting Manager’s attention
- Research new accounting guidance and exposure drafts for accounting areas that are managed, and clearly communicate findings
- Work collaboratively within the finance team, and outside departments to create solutions for challenges, and identify and implement procedures to improve efficiency
- Strengthen and document internal controls
- Assist with year-end audits
A Bit About You:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of financial or accounting experience.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communications.
- Self-directed, able to perform responsibilities independently with minimal direction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (Intermediate)
- Ability to effectively work across teams, both within the accounting functions, and across functions
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work; work well under pressure to meet deadlines – must be comfortable getting into the details
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Intacct, Nexonia, Coupa, Concur, Floqast and Bill.com
- CPA or equivalent
- Healthcare experience
- In-house GL Management
- Prior supervisory experience
- Experience with G Suite
