Job Description
The Inventory Control Manager, reporting to the Director of Materials, provides leadership for the internal logistics and warehousing operations in support of manufacturing and shipping operations. This position will lead the organization in ongoing analysis and improvements in material and work-in-process inventories across production value streams. Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure that production schedules are achieved through lean inventory management. Responsible for material inventory accuracy and integrity.
Prioritize, schedule, delegate, and directly supervise inventory control functions to maintain optimum levels of inventory and required materials needed to support manufacturing and shipping activities.
Support the development and maintenance of an inclusive perpetual inventory program. Ensure accurate end of period inventory reconciliation.
Coordinate with manufacturing areas the timely movement of materials, material identification, shop order processing, and ensure optimum inventory levels.
Participate on cross functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of productivity, methods, processes, and quality.
Develops ROP’s, 2 bin systems, Kanbans, and facilitates adjustments to meet service level and inventory turn objectives.
Continuously evaluates flow of stockroom, warehouse, and off-site warehouse, considering volume, size, weight, and related factors of items stored and consumed based on current business parameters.
Identifies obsolete material and purges regularly in balance with budget guideline.
Responsible for creating, analyzing, and reporting Performance Metrics.
Ensures application of lean principles in all aspects of materials management operations.
Responsible for leading and developing all direct reports.
Recommends action for reported non-usable, slow-moving, and excess stock.
Collaborate with Finance to execute annual inventory audit.
Supports company-wide initiatives through active leadership and participation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
BS Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Engineering
7 years of purchasing or materials management experience.
Knowledge and experience in the principles and practical application of purchasing, materials management, lean manufacturing, quality assurance, accounting, and information systems
Proven leadership skills to lead, motivate, and influence across the organization
APICS certification preferred.
