Overview

We are currently looking for a Sr. Financial Accounting & Reporting Analyst to assist in accounting & reporting for our family of companies and our various investments. If you have an Accounting or Finance bachelor’s degree along with 3 years of proven experience, we want to speak with you! In this role you will:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing processes, including analyzing and reporting on financial results, journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare internal financial documents for one or many of our various operating and service companies to be consolidated by our SEC Reporting team
- Assist junior staff with their responsibilities to gain leadership skills
- Lead partnerships with members of other organizations and the business in interpreting and providing solutions to technical accounting and business issues
- Support our SEC Reporting team in preparing required SEC filings by compiling support for and/or preparing financial statement variance analyses and footnote disclosures
Coordinate with our internal and external auditors, external specialists and other key external contacts on requests and accounting matters
We want you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, required
- 3 years of work experience in Public Accounting, Corporate Accounting or Reporting, Corporate Audit or Financial Planning & Analysis
- Professional designation (CPA, CIA, CFA) or master’s degree, a plus
- Knowledge of accounting & reporting standards (US GAAP and SEC)

- Ability to demonstrate value to the business and other Finance organizations by providing accounting expertise to develop and make recommendations that produce results
- Flexible and eager to work on different assignments throughout the department as needed
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team comprised of diverse backgrounds across the entire Altria organization
- Challenges the status quo and brings forward new insights and manages process innovation and simplification
- Uses effective, concise verbal and written communication to present to appropriate audiences and works to improve influencing skills
- Displays sophisticated problem-solving skills and presents recommendations to management
- Interest in rotating throughout Finance & Accounting to build financial acumen and business knowledge
