As the EHS Manager, you would be responsible for driving environmental and safety standards and compliance for the company, state, federal, ISO, and other industry governing bodies across the site. As a skilled trainer, you'd be developing and implementing key training opportunities and your excellent relational skills will come in handy as you mentor the rest of the staff. Who You Are
  • A continuous learner of government regulations pertaining to EHS and industry best practices, with a broad knowledge of safety and environmental laws.
  • A skilled relationship builder and communicator, able to increase awareness of safety and environmental responsibilities across all levels of the organization.
  • Well-able to develop and implement safety processes and systems across the site and to create and facilitate training opportunities to increase adherence to safety standards.
  • Experienced in the administration of government-mandated reporting for EHS programs, including the worker's compensation program.
  • Proven in your track record of driving results and continuous improvement in an organization, especially with Lean or Six Sigma principles.

  • Must have skills & Experiences "Deal Breakers": 
    • 3-5 years of experience in Safety and/or Environmental Management in manufacturing.
    • Bachelor's Degree 
    • Environmental experience as well as a safety/workers comp background.
    • Broad knowledge of safety and environmental laws and practices.
    • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of safety administration
    • Proven track record of driving results and continuous improvement in an organization
    • Experience in leading cross-functional teams
    • Practical knowledge of leading-edge lean/six sigma strategies
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to deal with and manage multiple projects
  • Preferred skills & experiences: 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Science, Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or the equivalent fields
    • 5 to 10 years of manufacturing experience, which preferably, includes multi-functional experience.
    • ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification 
    • Ensure safety/environmental compliance for OSHA, RCRA, TSCA, CERCLA, Clean Water Act, Air Pollution Control, NPDES, CFC, and EPCRA, etc. and maintains/implements all compliance policies, procedures, and reporting documentation necessary. 
    • Conduct facility audits for compliance with company and governmental regulations. 
    • Conducts accident investigations and incident analysis to determine underlying causes and develop recommendations. 
    • Responsible for Hazard Communication and maintaining SDS’s (Safety Data Sheets). 
    • Develop and implement safety management systems that will reduce incidents and raise safety awareness. 
    • Responsible for environmental permitting and reporting as required by Federal and State regulations. 
    • Develops and implements proper procedures for special situations and activities 
    • Develops and maintains Emergency Action Plan, Emergency Preparedness Training, including evacuation drills, and conducts periodic audits of emergency equipment and fire suppression systems. 
    • Serves as a site representative for Federal, State, and Local agencies conducting audits of the facility. 
    • Research, plan, organize, and conduct training programs, seminars, and conferences for plant personnel as related to safety and environmental topics and maintains training documents for record keeping and ISO compliance requirements 
    • Detailed and organized individual who has been responsible for managing all aspects of workers compensation.
