The Environmental Services Hospital position is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the hospital including patient room cleaning. The requirements of this position involve sanitizing and disinfecting all areas within the hospital and is the main defense to prevent the spread of infections.Essential Job Functions:
Cleans and disinfects rooms during patient stay and after patient is discharged.
Cleans and disinfects non-patient care areas, i.e. offices, lobby areas, lounges, bathrooms and locker rooms.
Interacts with patients, visitors, and associates in a friendly and efficient manner to meet customer needs.
Maintains a high quality of infection control. Ensures all areas of the “key touch” surfaces in all patient care rooms are kept up to standards.
Transports, monitors and contains waste according to standard operating procedure.
Communicates with the Lead in charge to ensure cleaning priorities are met.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
