What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Accountant position at Altumint, Inc.?
The Lead Accountant reports to the Corporate Controller. This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented candidate to perform and coordinate accounting activities within our organization. A successful candidate will be collaborative, proactive, action oriented and will inspire trust and confidence from colleagues. We are Private Equity owned and growing very rapidly. This person will have primary ownership of the month end close process and all day to day accounting tasks, including maintaining project cost models.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and month-end closings, including project cost analysis, overhead allocations, and revenue recognition activities
- Process and administer payroll and commissions
- Prepare customer billings
- Review cash receipts and receivables
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
- Consolidate and review expense reports for employee reimbursements and corporate credit card transactions, and post vouchers to the accounting system
- Perform the full cycle of accounts payable and disbursements functions (ACH via online banking and checks) ensuring timely payments and accurate recordkeeping
- Assist with support for annual tax and compliance filings
- Assist with support for financial audits
- Maintain record of financial data, contract backlog, and bank borrowing base reports
- Prepare and perform a preliminary review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and job costing reports
- Maintain updated cash management/cash flow reports
- Assist with update and maintenance of Accounting & Finance SOP’s to ensure all aspects of accounting are in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Provide support to streamline accounting processes and procedures to bring about process improvements
- Maintain tax records (shareholder, corporate, personal property, sales & use) and process payments to municipalities
- Process year-end 1099 forms
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Other special projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting with experience in corporate accounting environment
- 5 years of accounting experience with progressive responsibilities
- Audit experience-internal and external.
- CPA a plus
- Familiarity with GAAP, accrual-based accounting and job costing required
- Prepaid accounts experience
- Fixed asset schedules experience
- Balance sheets and financial statements experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
