Piping Designer II

Job Title: Piping Designer II Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Amarillo, TX

Job Purpose

• Reports to a Lead Designer and helps develop the design of mechanical and civil/structural systems for projects at industrial facilities.

Detailed Description

• Travel to client sites as required by the project, some may be overnights
• Safely conduct site surveys, using measurement tools and the 3D scanner
• Develop accurate 3D CAD models based on site survey data and manufacturer’s drawings
• Review and incorporate client, industry, and manufacturer specifications into designs
• Professionally host model reviews on site or within TEAMS with design project stakeholders
• Collaborate with other designers, engineers, and clients during the design process
• Mentor drafters as they support in developing complete Issue for Construction packages
• Perform quality control review of design package, for factual data, clarity and consistency
• Support Senior and Lead Designers in other project designs

Job Requirements

• Previous experience as a piping designer required
• An associate degree in computer-aided drafting or equivalent is preferred
• Strong knowledge of CAD Worx and Iso Gen software, or equivalent is preferred
• Experience with 3D scanning and point cloud modeling is preferred
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team design environment
• Ability to take small industrial design packages from concept to IFC deliverables
• Ability to travel to and work within industrial type facilities, this includes climbing stairs/ladders, walking for extended periods on concrete and in rough terrain, all while wearing safety PPE
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
