Alumicast Inc. is a Green Sand and No Bake Foundry located in Dallas, GA and is looking for a Pattern Maker for pattern shop located in Hampton, GA. You will operate various pieces of equipment and hand tools to design, build and maintain tooling for foundry castings. You will be expected to know many operation processes and implement continuous improvement ideas.
Job Requirements
Must have experience with patterns in Green Sands and No Bake.
Experience in making Master Patterns for Match Plates and Cope & Drag Patterns.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings of parts or patterns to be made and compute dimensions.
Make new tooling (Foundry Patterns and Core Box) by machining different materials using manual machining equipment like lathe, milling machines, drill presses and grinders.
Verify conformance of patterns or template dimensions to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales and micrometers.
Perform regular repair and modification on existing patterns and core boxes.
The ability to build a solid pattern or core box by hand using wood, Bondo and glue as a medium to construct a successful pattern.
Layout and draw or scribe patterns onto material using compasses, protractors, rulers and other instruments.
Capable of making correct mathematical calculations which are vital to the success of dimension and fit of the finished pattern.
