What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Alutiiq, LLC?
Afognak Native Corporation has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller - Federal. Responsibilities include providing high-level support to Federal Operations Controller and the Federal Operations Finance Executive in a multi-organization Alaska Native Corporation doing business with the federal government. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Assists with Federal Operations Parent and Subsidiary Companies' monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure reporting requirements are met for each subsidiary company.
- Establish strong relationships with cross-functional peers, program managers and senior managers and collaborate with others throughout the Federal Operations.
- Assist with the development, enhancement and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve overall operation and efficiencies and reduce risk of the business.
- Assist with external and internal auditing procedures and data collection.
- Assist with GAAP and FAR application across all Federal subsidiary companies.
- Completing, reviewing, and monitoring monthly reconciliations for Federal subsidiaries.
- Complete sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliation and complete required journal entries for Federal subsidiary companies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages for Federal subsidiary companies.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting packages for Federal subsidiary companies to include: SBA reporting, proposal financial statement submissions, international data pulls and other various financial reports as needed.
- Prepare intercompany requests for cash movement along with tracking intercompany payments and cash flow monitoring between Federal subsidiary companies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Payrate:$90,000 to 115,000 Annually
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 8-10 years of accounting experience in a federal contractor organization
- Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Deltek Costpoint experience is required in multiple modules to include:
- Accounting, projects and people (specific to labor posting and payroll)
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, demonstrated by experience or education.
- Knowledge of automated accounting processes.
- Ability to identify efficiencies and lead continuous improvement projects.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills and collaboration with corporate stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications or Skills:
- MBA/CPA/CMA designation preferred
