POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Position Overview:
THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO AFOGNAK SHAREHOLDERS AND LOCAL UNION 612 MEMBERS ONLY.
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include, but not limited to, trucks, front-end loaders, bulldozers, graders, extended boom equipment, tamping equipment, back hoe, compactors,. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. This position an on call or per job task order basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Tasks to be performed may include but are not limited to:
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of Injury, property damage or loss of life.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
Participate in routine maintenance. .
Maintain a clean and presentable workplace/station.
Accomplishes all tasks using best safety practices as adopted by EM385
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience on civil projects.
CDL with tanker endorsement, preferred
