Position Overview
The Work Control Manager at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama, is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Work Control Center (WCC), which functions during both core and non-core working hours. This role is critical in managing the receipt, categorization, prioritization, and documentation of work requirements submitted via an internet-based work request system, email, or telephone. The Work Control Manager ensures that all work requests are handled according to their urgency, with response times aligned to a contract-defined schedule that varies based on the nature of the request and the working hours.
This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
In this position, you will be responsible for the accurate entry and management of work request data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This involves ensuring that all duplicate work orders are eliminated and that sufficient information is provided to clearly identify each work requirement. Your role will also involve producing and analyzing status reports from the WCC, offering insights into individual projects and identifying larger trends in the aggregate work orders. You will report on work status, highlighting any issues that could affect work schedules.
The Work Control Manager is also tasked with the operation and management of the CMMS, ensuring that the inventory of assets described in the system is kept up-to-date and accurate. You will continuously update work schedules, locations, and equipment associated with work requests within the CMMS, ensuring that all information is current and reflective of actual conditions.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date work schedule that is subject to government-initiated priority changes. Your scheduling function must have the capability to adjust quickly and efficiently, providing information on which work requests and tasks will need to shift, and to what extent, to accommodate these priority changes.
Expected Pay Range: $90,000 to $120,000 per year
