Description:
The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating NC Programs for CNC Machines using CATIA, MASTERCAM, GibbsCAM, or FUSION360 and perform Verification using VERICUT or CAMPLETE, including but not limited to, 3-axis and 5-Axis Mills. The programmer shall be able to plan and program complex components with different material (e.g. Titanium, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Aluminum). Have experience with macro programs is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Careful review of drawings, data, and engineering required to successfully program machining to customer requirements.
- Creation of programs to control the operation sequence and cycling of CNC machines.
- Efficient selection and application of available machines to jobs.
- Creation of setup forms with tooling details and work-holding plans.
- Programming of correct operational sequences, tooling changes, machine movements, & cycle speeds.
- Utilize drawings or CAD models to support program development.
- Support process optimization and machine utilization with updates as necessary.
- Provide input on process decisions and strategies
- Adhere to company and customer specifications, work instructions, engineering prints and work orders.
- Complete documentation of the materials and processes used in the process to maintain traceability of product.
- Mentoring of setup operators.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience programming using CATIA, MASTERCAM, GibbsCAM, or FUSION360
- Education: High School diploma or higher.
- Strong understanding of ANSY Y14.5 and GD&T engineering drawings.
- Familiarity of the AS9100 quality assurance system.
- Experience performing full set-ups, program edits, and holding tolerances as tight as /- .0001"
- Complete understanding of machine control management, including mastering of all machine code terminology, usage, along with macro programming usage
- Awareness of cutting tool technology, to support application optimization
- Complete understanding and awareness of measurement and inspection tool usage
- Complete understanding of work-holding strategies and usage
- Ability to communicate application status both to department team to shop level associates, in terms of application status, issues, and requirements.
- Must be able to work independently, but also demonstrate an ability to work productively within the department team.
- Ability to read prints and update paperwork neatly, accurately, and in an organized manner.
- Ability to increase the level of performance of peers and subordinates.
- Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in English.
