Basic Details:
Must be able to work shifts between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday
This position is in-person in Bernardine Hall Suite 103.
The student must be enrolled full-time during the Fall and Spring Semesters
Expectations for dress/attire for this position are business casual.
Summary of Duties:
The final candidate selected to this position will play a vital role in advancing the services and initiatives of the Office of Career Development and positively impact the office’s ability to align with and provide support to realizing key pillars of the Alvernia University 2022 Strategic Plan.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide direct one-on-one and small group career advising, mentoring, and consulting support services
to undergraduate and graduate students (ex: resume/cover letter review, conduct mock interviews, etc.)
Manage the Internship Tracking & Assessment system the office maintains which tracks all internship
(including field, clinical, etc.) activity at Alvernia.
Help advance office’s strategic services and initiatives and be responsive to the needs of the office’s
partners and stakeholders.
Participate in office meetings, trainings, and other activities.
Support marketing and advertising office efforts.
Support Alvernia’s university-wide ‘Campus-to-Career’ Career Fairs.
Help manage career.development@alvernia.edu email account and respond to email inquiries.
Assist in posting and advertising different internship and career opportunities.
Host career presentations and workshops on behalf of the Executive Director.
Demonstrate a high degree of professional reliability.
Promote Franciscan ideals and adherence to the Mission of the University.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and current enrollment in an Alvernia graduate program.
Commitment to the mission statement, core Franciscan values and goals of Alvernia University.
Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Experience or flexibility to pick up new software (ex: Canva, Photoshop, Qualtrics, etc).

Graduate program of 2 years is preferred.
