Shipping Clerk Job Description

AM Solar is seeking a shipper/packer to join the team.

We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented shipping teammate to help us with our growing business. AM Solar has been in business since 2002, and we’ve seen significant growth for the past 5-10 years. This position is responsible for the packing and fulfillment of customer and dealer orders sold via web or phone orders. This includes communicating with others in the Order Fulfillment department and filing paperwork/administrative documents.

Supervisor: Shipping Manager

Minimum job requirements: 1. High school diploma or equivalent2. Attention to detail3. Basic computer proficiency4. Availability for full-time employment5. Must be able to lift minimum 50lbs, other heavy lifting may be required6. *Preferred - current forklift certification or being open to getting one

Expectations: Candidates must be motivated, personable, and possess integrity. You must enjoy working with others and have excellent communication skills. This position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret packing lists and instructions. Physically, this job requires long periods of standing or walking. Employees must regularly lift and move heavy objects.

Job type: Full time (35 hours per week)

Pay: Starting at $16.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Thursday approximately 7:45am - 4:30pm; Friday 8:00am - 3:00pm* (Summer may offer more hours depending on workflow)

Location: AM Solar is located in Springfield, OR. This opportunity is not available as a remote position. TheOrder Fulfillment department is located in the “Outpost” down the street from Head Quarters.

Essential duties and responsibilities: Fulfilling orders and packing kits with many parts and subkits Coordinating information internally with multiple departments and external dealer network Communicate inventory needs with appropriate Order Fulfillment team members Other duties as assigned

Standards: Performance reviews are typically held twice per year. The employee in this position shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following are accomplished:

• Orders are prepared, packaged, and shipped within 4 business days (average) of receiving customer orders, sooner for dealer orders and warranties (1-2 business days)

• Orders are packaged correctly without missing parts, unless inventory is missing, which is clearly communicated with Order Fulfillment team

Required paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner All AM Solar policies and safety procedures are followed at all times

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be subject to outside weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, snow, etc. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts/lifts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee may be needed to drive the company vehicle to and from the two locations, which requires a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
