Amangiri, Sanskrit for Peaceful Mountain, is cradled by the greatest concentration of national parks in the U.S.; a staggering landscape of canyons, mesas, mountains, gorges, rapids and desert. We provide opportunities for guests to explore the area by land, air or water. Hiking, horseback riding and via ferrata crossings are available for every level of ability. Guests can enjoy the glassy waters of Lake Powell through kayaking and an aerial view of the Utah Desert from the basket of a hot air balloon. The Spa at Amangiri integrates the healing traditions of the Navajo into the various spa treatments. Each treatment draws on the four elements; Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Our Food and Beverage team blends the traditional culinary culture of the Southwest with the modern dining experience. Guests at Amangiri enjoy dishes inspired by Native American Cuisine while taking in the sunrise or sunset from the floor to ceiling windows. Opened in July of 2020, Camp Sarika seems truly set apart from the rest of the world. Here, guests enjoy the true connection to nature. Surrounded by canyons and mesas, the wilderness encampment combines the simplicity and solitude of the desert with the thrill of exploration and adventure.

LOCATION - This role is based at Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah (near Page, Arizona). Candidates must be interested in relocating to this very remote area of Southern Utah/Northern Arizona.

THE POSITION - The Reservationist arranges reservations for guests at the ultra-luxury, professional level of Aman and will support requests in every manner to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction. Guest interaction will be by phone and email; position is in an office setting.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Satisfying guest needs and exceeding their expectations by projecting a positive hotel image through proper grooming, appropriate verbal communication, and taking responsibility of guest needs.
  
  • Communicating within Front Office and other departments regularly.
  • Answering phone calls within 3 rings in a friendly and prompt manner.

• Taking and confirming reservations within 24 hours.
• Checking upcoming reservations to ensure accuracy.
• Filing all reservations daily.
• Printing daily reservations reports.
• Handling all advance payments, charges, and working with Accounting team when necessary.
• Inform AMAN offices of unique booking situations.
• Monitoring booking situations, especially for holidays and busy times.
• Informing the kitchen of any special requests or needs (allergic to shellfish)
• Coordinating room changes with Housekeeping.
• Addressing guest complaints and following through with appropriate resolutions.
• Recording information for each shift in a Log Book.
• Addressing each day's traces to ensure all detailed tasks are covered.
• Ensuring arrival and departure information for all guests is obtained and communicated.
• Recording guest history and inputting into system.
• Communicating Reservation information to the Reservations Manager.
• Learning all on property offerings and events.
• Keeping up-to-date with community activities and events.
• Keeping high personal grooming standards and maintaining a neat uniform.
• Becoming familiar and complying with all Amangiri policies and procedures.
• Keeping work area clean and organized.
• Assisting Reservations Manager in times of need.
• Performing other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two years of previous reservations or similar experience is preferred.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and very comfortable with email correspondence.
• Knowledge of Opera System is preferred.
• Must be familiar with working a full shift in an office environment.
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail when wording on multiples tasks at once.
• Previous professional communication skills on the phone and in person.

• PHYSICALITY:
  This position can be physical in nature. All employees must expect the following for sustained periods during each work shift:

• Sustained sitting, twisting, standing, bending, stooping, , etc.
  Working mostly indoors in a climate controlled environment.
