Network Development Engineer, Capacity Delivery Services (CDS)

In this role, you will work on a team of highly skilled Network and System Development Engineers responsible for the end-to-end ownership of our Core datacenter network. This includes the design/architecture, definition and enforcement of standards, security, sustainability/scalability, deployment , and software & automation of our current and next generation networks.

To continue to grow we need NDE’s who can push platforms to their limits and bypass limitations imposed by third party software and
· Develop new processes and write automation to scale and grow the AWS network.
· Design network topologies, architectures, and services that solve for many requirements
· Design ahead of current customer’s or technology needs, predict and solve for future problems
· Create and defend High Level Design (HLD)
· Influence technology roadmaps, construct and test his/her solutions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree
• 5 years professional experience working in large scale networking environments.
• 2 years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.
• 3 years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments.
• 3 years of experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
• 3 years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as C , C#, Java, Python, Golang, Ruby
• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills; specifically, network performance analysis
• Ability to architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate tools and services with a security, scalability, and performance mindset.
• Experience building services using AWS products.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
• Previous experience with infrastructure automation (e.g. automated provisioning of network devices, experience with networking technologies such as TGW, VPC or serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda).
• Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work toward resolution
