We are seeking a Principal Program Manager to join our team. In this position, you will be able to partner with key internal and external stakeholders and dive deep into the business challenges to understand and identify insights that will enable us deliver results faster.

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for a Principal Program Manager to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional and technology projects and programs within ATS Postal Operations and Strategy Team (ATS POST). Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is a growing operation unit that significantly impacts the customer experience. This role will allow you to scope and create project plans, develop processes, coordinate and drive execution, and communicate to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes.

Key job responsibilities
• Manage new and existing programs, successfully delivering difficult projects and goals across multiple organizations
• Work directly with external providers, customers, and partner teams to craft and deliver scalable solutions
• Partner with other program managers to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones and drive delivery
• Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers (e.g., path to green), escalating as appropriate
• Influence design and development of strategic processes
• Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
• Develop, implement, and govern Key Performance Indicator reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects and using this data to drive/influence business decisions
• Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers
• Manage post-launch support plans (e.g., post-mortem, issue/ticket management, etc.) and look for opportunities to improve program quality and operational excellence

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7 years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 7 years of program or project management experience
- 7 years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics, or related field
- Experience with data mining and data analysis
- Experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
- Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau or Microsoft Access

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
- MBA/MS and work experience in dedicated project management, supply chain, or transportation highly desired
- Experience or use of PMP/Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment when working in stressful situations
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization
- Proven ability to influence internal/external stakeholders without authority to adopt new processes/initiatives
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
- Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
- Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business and the competitive landscape

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
