Expectations from the candidate is to help us build a new set of secure, intelligent, user-friendly tools for managing and collaborating on all types of content.
You will work and learn with senior leaders, principal engineers, and cross-organization partners at your side to deliver experiences enjoyed by customers around the world. We are building new features as well as adapting existing features for a remote-first collaborative world reaching more than 1 million users around the world. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional design, and coding skills along with strong technical acumen. They will be will be a catalyst for change by working with the various product managers and principal engineers to design and code reliable, flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges. As experienced development engineer you can own a task from end to end while mentoring other developers.
Our development teams are based in Austin, Bellevue, Denver, Dallas, Portland, Vancouver, North and South California, Seattle and NYC, offering a range of cities where developers can jumpstart their careers.

About the team
Amazon WorkDocs is a product that is used by Amazonians and external companies alike. We have built WorkDocs using other AWS Products for storage, workflows, compute, messaging, analytics and more. Our customers use our product through various channels - web, mobile and desktops. Our team is a first-hand user of our own product and this makes us a unique team that is able to walk in the shoes of our customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- 2 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
· 3 years of hands-on software development experience.
· Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
· 2 years experience in building web applications with JavaScript/CSS Frameworks.
· 2 years experience in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, C#.
· Eager to learn new skills and mentor new developers. Its always Day 1 at Amazon.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a wide variety of audiences
· Experience developing front-end software, with deep experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks (e.g.: React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
· Ability to convert a design document into a working service with no loss in fidelity
· Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design and problem solving.
· Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, performance and operations.
· Post-graduate degree in Computer Science or related field
· Ability to deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
