What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Data Scientist position at Amazon?
DESCRIPTION
As trusted AWS Industries customer advocates, the Prototyping and Customer Engineering (PACE) team helps customers in creating the early iterations of products and solutions, often exploring new technical grounds. The team is looking for an experienced and motivated data science expert who possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal and writing skills.
You will partner with customers and other developers to design solutions that address customer use cases and accelerate the adoption of AWS. You will work backwards from a customer outcome to identify the data science needs for a prototype and gather or synthesize training data. Then test ML model algorithms and parameters as you iterate with AWS services like Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Rekognition Custom Labels and others to deliver compelling results that prove technical feasibility.
You will be challenged with supporting emerging technology use cases across a range of industry verticals that act on numerical, text, audio and video data. Full-stack developers on your team will support you with delivering highly scalable ML solutions that close the loop with customer feedback to improve models over time. There will be many opportunities to lead the development team on our engagements and interact with business and technical customer stakeholders at the executive and C-level.
The ability to learn new technology and develop solutions that meet a high-quality bar and convey business value is critical to the role. In this role, it’s imperative that you’re self-guided and disciplined in managing your time to ensure success.
