Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Storage Solutions Architect to guide our customers on data storage best practices and to help shape the future growth of our storage services. As a storage Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be an authority on architectures that leverage AWS services to increase availability and drive down costs for our customers.

The ideal candidate is as comfortable white boarding complex software architectures with a roomful of engineers as they are briefing an executive audience. You will get the opportunity to work with a wide array of AWS Public Sector customers, systems integrators, and partners. You will also have the opportunity to write whitepapers, deliver technical webinars, speak at events, and file patents for what could potentially be a future AWS product or feature.

Candidates should be a technical domain expert, with experience in storage technologies as well as having in-depth knowledge of solutions in the cloud. Experience working directly with customers is required. Previous experience with AWS is desired but not required. You will get the opportunity to work directly with senior engineers at both customers and AWS service teams.

We are looking for a candidate that possess the following:

• A passion for customers and partners.
• A passion for solving customer problems by educating, training, designing, and building cloud computing systems.
• Experience in implementing both on-premise and cloud storage technologies.
• An understanding of commercial and Public Sector trends in Storage and data management.
• A variety of experiences working as a solutions architect/consultant/internal IT working with customers of all sizes in complex environments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures
• 8 years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Professional experience designing and operating enterprise IT storage architectures, as well as integration into large-scale production applications

Experience designing storage architecture to performance requirements of customized use cases, applications, databases and compute platforms.

Professional experience architecture and design of cloud solutions

Understanding of AWS Storage Services such as S3, Glacier, Elastic File System (EFS), AWS Storage Gateway (SGW), and Snowball. Use of Experience with AWS services in a production environment.

Experience in performing in a presales capacity with storage or infrastructure technologies.

Experience creating Proof Of Concepts to leverage Block, File Or Object storage technologies.

Working knowledge of security, disaster recovery, and designing highly available architecture.

Understands the role that networking plays in complex storage architectures.
providing technical enablement by performing presentations, conducting speaking engagements, content creation and performing demonstrations of AWS solutions.

Bachelors degree or 4 years equivalent work experience

Comfortable speaking to large audiences

This position can be located anywhere in the Midwest to support US Central territory.
