DESCRIPTION
MGM Alternative is hiring a Casting Executive to oversee and manage the talent and casting of unscripted television projects with a focus on development.
Executive must have experience overseeing casting and talent management, including but not limited to: identifying new and upcoming talent, developing relationships for potential placement on a variety of programs, hiring and managing 3rd party casting companies, and liaising between creative executives, producers, and existing talent. This position will work across all MGM Alternative brands (MGM Unscripted, Big Fish Entertainment, Evolution Media.
Key job responsibilities
• Identify talent for MGM Alternative shows, including celebrity talent for host and docuseries opportunities, and uncovering subcultures of unknown talent.
• Identify & meet with various talent for potential development and/or future opportunities.
• Hire and manage talent bookers and external casting companies for various projects; creating budgets, liaising between creative executives and casting teams, noting casting reels, and book talent directly, when necessary.
• Deep awareness of and expertise in pop culture; identify breakthrough talent and stay current on trends, as well as foster relationships with emerging talent.
• Work with Business Affairs regarding talent contracts and provide insight in negotiations as needed.
• Help to create operational efficiencies both internally and externally
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 6 years in casting and/or leading a casting function
• 2 years in unscripted development at a network, studio, or production company
• Bachelors Degree Required
• Deep, proven relationships with agents, managers, casting companies, talent bookers, and network buyers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills

• 10 years in casting and/or leading a casting function

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
