JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Food Service Worker is a key member of the dietary team. The Food Service Worker will be trained to fill a variety of roles within the kitchen environment to assure that our patients and our guests are getting high quality food and excellent customer service.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Performing preparation duties such as rinsing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruit and vegetables.
- Weighing and measuring ingredients.
- Wrapping, date-labeling, and storing food items.
- Replenishing floor stock within the patient care departments and checking for outdates
- Cleaning and organizing work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, service station, and cafe.
- Following established recipes to prepare menu items.
- Following guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control.
- Serving customers in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner.
- Providing customers with information regarding food ingredients, availability, and pricing.
- Assisting patients with ordering their meals and delivering meals in a timely manner.
- Escalating customer concerns and complaints to management.
- Assisting customers to pay for products.
- Complying with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:
- Minimum Required Experience: Experience in food preparation and/or customer service. Must be able to work as a team.
- Preferred Experience: Healthcare dietary experience with understanding of food allergies and modified diets.
