Job Description

Job Summary

To be considered a qualified candidate for Lead - Warehouse, an individual must have mastered the specific responsibilities / essential functions of a Warehouseperson and / or Truck Driver.

Qualified candidates are responsible for the overall front-line support of Warehouse personnel. This individual requires a complete and overall knowledge of Injection and Blowmold processes as it relates tot he movement and storage of product and the ability to instill good manufacturing practices and guidelines through leadership by example.

Warehouse Group Lead

Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions

1. Directly responsible for the proper support of Warehouse employees.

2. Keeps the Warehouse Group Lead informed of individual employee accomplishments and developmental needs.

3. Directly responsible for providing direction and supervision to Warehouse employees in the absence of the Warehouse Group Lead.

4. Assists in the handling and resolution of employee complaints, questions and suggestions.

5. Responsible for on-the-job training of Warehouseperson employees.

6. Relieve for breaks as necessary.

7. Maintains all required documentation for the Warehouse Group Lead.

8. Keeps the Materials Manager and Warehouse Group Lead informed of late loads, damaged product, mis-ticketed product and other matters of urgency in the Warehouse.

9. Change status of product, carriers or schedule carriers as needed.

10. Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor "No Injuries Safety Contract" and as trained.

Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and Supervisors.Properly uses all required personal protective equipment.

11. Performs other related duties as directed by the Warehouse Group Lead to insure the smooth and orderly operation of finished product movement in the area assigned.

Authorization

  • Recommend Staff stop production for unacceptable quality
  • Recommend Staff quarantine out-of-specification products, materials or supplies
  • Contact any member of Management without fear of reprisal concerning questions, suggestions, or complaints regarding quality, working conditions or job environment

Job Specifications and Requirements

1. Education and Experience :

a. High school diploma or equivalent preferred

b. Previous warehouse and / or manufacturing experience required

c. Current CDL license preferred

d. OSHA Power Industrial Truck certification provided by Amcor

2. Physical Requirements : This is a medium physical demand job

a. Employee may be required to drive a fork truck up to 11 hours

b. Employee may be required to drive a cab with and without a trailer up to 11 hours

c. Employees must be able to work 12-hour shifts day or nights, including weekends and holidays.

d. Employees are required to bend; turn / twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations.

3. Required Safety Equipment :

a. Employees are required to continuously wear hearing and eye protection, as well as protective clothing including steel toe shoes.

4. Environmental Factors :

a. Continuous noise of 85dB

b. Frequent exposure to chemicals

c. Occasional exposure to dust / fumes / gas

5. Other Requirements :

a. Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values related to job functions.

b. Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions / judgement calls based on the situation at hand.

c. Proficient hand / eye coordination to operate equipment and assemble packaging for shipment.

d. Ability to communicate clearly.

e. Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software related to record keeping and machine troubleshooting / maintenance.
