Position Overview:
The Sr. EHS Leader is responsible for supporting Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) initiatives for Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP). This position supports ARP, both Business and Operations Leadership, as well Plant Managers and EHS Leadership in their respective environmental, health, safety programs through developing/gathering/managing EHS related data and records, database administration, developing and delivering internal and external presentations, arranging, and coordinating meetings to support related initiatives, and other functions as required. Works to navigate and support plant management in developing, implementing, and monitoring the plant’s overall environmental, safety, and health programs and initiatives across ARPNA.

Job Description
Position Overview:
The Sr. EHS Leader is responsible for supporting Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) initiatives for Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP). This position supports ARP, both Business and Operations Leadership, as well Plant Managers and EHS Leadership in their respective environmental, health, safety programs through developing/gathering/managing EHS related data and records, database administration, developing and delivering internal and external presentations, arranging, and coordinating meetings to support related initiatives, and other functions as required. Works to navigate and support plant management in developing, implementing, and monitoring the plant’s overall environmental, safety, and health programs and initiatives across ARPNA.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
- Develop/implement/ maintain all applicable aspects of site health/safety/environmental (HSE programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for all employees
- Work with all site EHS professionals to ensure employee compliance training for all applicable ARPNA and Amcor Global EHS Standards are being met
- Conduct periodic EHS related visits to sites to conduct safety observations of shop floor activities, develop applicable action items to address gaps, and support plant leadership in the enforcement of established safety requirements
- System administrator for ISN to ensure contractors are meeting ARP requirements.
- Maintains effective behavior-based safety auditing program to drive employee compliance and commitment to established safety requirements
- Lead corporate EHS initiatives across ARP, to include sharing best practices and drive continued improvement EHS management systems
- Develop/maintain/conduct regular EHS-related communications to provide direction and visibility on matters related to safety incidents, ARP and pertinent updates
- Perform other EHS-related duties/assignments as requested by BG/corporate leadership
- Support the development of EHS improvement strategies for ARP to meet performance goals
- Assist EHS Leadership with implementation of ARP and Amcor Limited programs and policies including (and not limited to): injury prevention plans, incident management, worker’s compensation administration, environmental risk management, site permit inventory and compliance, sustainability initiatives, auditing, and property insurance risk recommendations
- Support continuous improvement in EHS performance by gathering and analyzing data and statistics related to incidents, concerns, and trends in support of ARP and Amcor Limited programs and policies
- Overall SAMS administrator for ARP supporting the incident notification and investigation process and ensure conformance with established Amcor reporting requirements; acting as a resource to all ARPNA locations
- ARP system administrator for LearnShare/computer-based safety training program
- ARP and AFNA system administrator for Cority/SDS system
- Coordinate, and participate as required, in EHS internal and external audits
- Support EHS Leadership in collaborating with appropriate plant personnel to resolve safety and/or environmental issues
- Assist the development of ARP environmental compliance calendars and coordinate permit compliance and renewals for all sites
- Develop and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual EHS reports to ARP senior leadership, plants, and corporate EHS
- Develop and support EHS Director ARPNA in the development of EHS presentations
- Support sites with compliance to all federal/state/local laws, regulations, rules, and codes regarding compliance to safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental standards
- Serves as site liaison/point of contact for purposes of EHS-related external auditing requirements, second- or third-party activities, or governmental/agency inspections
- Act as a EHS backup/resource for Director EHS ARPNA and open EHS plant functions
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in safety management, safety engineering, or related field
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in environmental, health, and safety in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to graphically display operations information and perform life cycle assessments
- Must be able to communicate and interface with all levels of the organization from senior leadership to hourly co-workers
- Demonstrated working knowledge/application of Microsoft Office
- Ability to operate under minimal supervision
- Travel up to 25%
