Job Description R&D – Internship/Co-op Manchester, MI About the Opportunity: Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking full-time Co-op/Intern that will commence in August 2024 and end in December 2024 and will give the selected student a challenging project-based work experience, the opportunity to learn about Amcor Rigid Packaging business, the packaging industry, and receive mentorship from business leaders. Internship Assignments: The Innovation/Product Development Co-op will be exposed to injection and blow mold manufacturing line and customer fill lines as well as gain cross-function exposure to the commercial, innovation and other R&D teams. The Co-op will be responsible for updating the competitive market study and will carry out a development project which could include: Supporting the launch of new bottle for Commercial or Marketing Sustainability initiatives including light weighting or increased use of recycled materials Presentation of work and learnings to the business group Support product development engineers Conduct competitive analysis Manage special projects as required Lead basic development programs with supervised interaction with customers Basic Qualifications: Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Packaging, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Must hold a Junior class standing at the time of the internship Cumulative 3.2 GPA or better Must be 18 years or older Preferred Qualifications and Skills: Demonstrated leadership abilities Strong analytical and project management skills Motivation to learn and take challenges Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work within a team-based environment A continuous improvement and innovative mindset Initiative to meet project milestones and deadlines Ability to speak to small to mid-sized groups #LI-AB2 Our Expectations We expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
