Job Description
Purpose: Supports Amcor – Terre Haute facility by providing testing, inspection and reporting services that support manufacturing, sales, quality and development activities for plain film, printed roll stock, converted bags including specialty constructions and closures.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Tests film samples and accurately records test data per established procedures as requested by Laboratory Supervisor or designee.
- Supports Certificate Of Assurance (COA)/Certificate of Compliance (COC) testing and inspection activities up to, and including, preparation of the certification reports.
- Perform instrument verification, calibration, cleaning and maintenance.
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Perform retests on suspect material by cutting samples/performing lab testing.
- Maintains data bases and files for commercial and developmental testing results
- Supports sample collection and distribution as required.
- Supports WCOM efforts
- Supports cost reduction efforts by testing new blends and establishing new specifications
- Problem resolution testing as required by Quality, Technical or Sales
WHAT WE VALUE
- Possesses good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient at reading measuring devices (rulers, gauges, gradient scales, etc.)
- Possesses good math skills and reading comprehension
- A basic understanding of common Quality Systems and Problem Solving tools.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of plant personnel from Management to Production Operators and Assistants.
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
- Associates degree in math, lab or science related field preferred
- 1-3 years experience in manufacturing or testing of flexible packaging, paper or related areas.
- Possesses basic computer skills required for Microsoft Office and testing equipment software
- Possesses normal color vision
- Work experience with lab and testing equipment preferred
