Summary
AME, Inc. is currently seeking a skilled Project Manager for our Industrial Contracting Division. Our Project Managers lead a mixed team of superintendents, foreman, journeyman, helpers, and sub-contractors on multiple construction projects. The Project Manager builds relationships with architects, engineers, and jurisdictions and leads meetings at job sites. Project Managers handle the initial estimating and negotiations with contractors. They are responsible for the budget and timely completion of projects, and overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
· Comprehensive understanding of all industrial services provided by AME, Inc. and capable of discussing them with clients. Services include: rigging, millwright, welding & fabrication, alignment, cranes, civil activities, and subcontract services for electrical and piping
· Proficiently and competitively generate cost estimates demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete project scopes of work and negotiate applicable contracts to secure projects
· Analyze RFQ documents (scope of work, drawings, etc) and customer schedule to generate a proposal that aligns with the request and which can be properly staffed and met by all parties (AME, Subcontractors, etc) and conveys any discrepancies in writing to the client as part of the proposal/contract submittal and negotiation process. Can produce an MS project or excel based manpower loaded schedule to be utilized as part of the bid process and eventual project execution.
· Review, administer, and execute both Prime and Sub-prime contracts/agreements
· Identifying all trades necessary to complete a requested scope of work: Civil, Structural, Rigging, Millwright, Welding & Fabrication, Alignment, Piping, Electrical, etc
· Properly organizes all parties (AME, subcontractors, etc) to ensure work starts timely and organized; commission the Foreman and crew both on or off site with the complete project scope; provide the Foreman and crew with the proper documentation
· Execute full project management process including labor planning, material requests and purchasing, tool and equipment requests, subcontractors, travel arrangements, incident management, and project reporting
· Proficient at using industry recognized AIA documents to generate invoices and requests for payment ensuring all invoices are submitted to the customer in a timely and professional manner
· Generate a “Schedule of values” and “Invoicing schedule” for submittal to the client and internal accounting
· Ensure any out-of-scope work is clearly identified and properly documented and authorized by the customer on either a fixed or T&M cost basis prior to any start of work; Ensures all change orders are properly tracked in the field and office and subsequently invoiced properly
Skills and Specifications:
· Strong computer and technical skills including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), AutoCAD, Navisworks required
· Demonstrates a proficiency of the tools and equipment available within AME / Industry and their applications to the tasks at hand while understanding their limitations and possible unique applications
· Demonstrates a thorough grasp of prioritization & time management for all facets of the above categories
· Communicates professionally and in a properly articulate manner via phone, e-mails, etc.
· Understands and works toward a Financial contribution target each year which contributes to the growth of AME above and beyond the direct and indirect costs associated with his/her assigned projects
Education and Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent qualification; Associates degree (preferred but not required)
· Holds appropriate certifications including OSHA 30 and CPR
Physical Requirements
· Ability to travel
· Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours / day
· Must be able to lift 50lbs as needed
· Must be able to go up and down on ladder, steps, or other lifts as needed
· Must be able to work in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures for 10-12 hours / day
